• What happened?

    • We believe this product was insufficiently pasteurized, due to the presence of fresh fruit, there is the possibility for fermentation to occur in warm cans. Cans that have been refrigerated are unlikely to be pressurized.

  • What about the other Honeyberry products?

    • It is only the Birdie Honeyberry Lemonade, a THC-infused beverage product that we believe to be under-pasteurized.

  • How do I know if my cans are affected?

    • If you see a bulged area on the top or bottom of the can, or you have already opened one and the contents was under pressure.

  • What will happen if I drink it?

    • If you have already consumed the product there are no safety concerns. If a fermentation occurred this would impact the taste and pressure inside the can, but does not mean there are pathogens to be concerned about. Because the cans are unstable, we do not recommend drinking Birdie Honeyberry Lemonade.

  • How to properly dispose of a Birdie Honeyberry Lemonade?

    • We recommend gently placing the Birdie in a concealed box or plastic bag before disposing to prevent the contents from being released under pressure.

  • Will I get refunded?

    • Yes. Wild State will provide refunds or a replacement product of equal value.
    • If you purchased Birdie Honeyberry Lemonade at the taproom or on our website, please send us an email at info@wildstatecider.com for a refund.
    • If you’ve purchased at another location, Wild State will provide a replacement product of equal value with the following information:

  • What are we doing to prevent this in the future?

    • Effective immediately, we’ve changed our pasteurization process to prevent future issues.
    • Out of an abundance of caution, we’ve submitted the product for additional testing.
