Description The Taproom Manager on Duty’s role is to oversee daily taproom operations, lead our team of bartenders, oversee taproom events, and serve as an ambassador to our ciders, brand, and the local craft-made industry.

Regular Schedule Wednesday – Friday evenings (3:00 PM – 11:00 PM), Saturdays (11:00 AM – 7:00 PM), Sundays (9:00 PM – 4:00 PM). Subject to change based on events and taproom needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop our taproom team with guidance from the Taproom Director.
  • Set a welcoming, appropriate and professional tone for staff communication and dynamics.
  • Be personable, authentic, and fun; build genuine connections with the Wild State Cider team and our guests.
  • Serve ciders in the taproom, as well as ice cream and prepared food items.
  • Stay informed and up-to-date on the taproom, current product offerings, and events.
  • Lead training & development of current and new staff to promote knowledge, efficiency and growth as directed by the Taproom Director.
  • Conduct daily check-ins with bartenders.
  • Operate and understand core functions of the POS system and all taproom equipment.
  • Perform regular cleaning and upkeep duties in the taproom, while holding others to the same high standards.
  • Lead in the management of taproom events, including set-up, vendor communication, flow of the event, tear-down, and more.
  • Respond promptly to management inquiries, assignments and deadlines.
  • Ensure the overall appearance of taproom displays and environment are kept at the highest level.
  • Oversee daily taproom operations and actively promote ideas for operational improvement.
  • Willingness to flex schedule to cover shifts for staff illness and unexpected absences.
  • Additional tasks as delegated by the Taproom Director.
  • Delegate tasks to bartenders as needed.
  • Other duties may be assigned to this position.

Essential Functions

  • Provide excellent customer service to Wild State customers.
  • Respond to customer complaints and emergency situations as needed.
  • Maintains current knowledge and understanding of all company procedures and policies; exemplifies, upholds and enforces all policies and procedures.
  • Embrace taking on new tasks and opportunities as the business grows.
  • Fill in for bartender and event host shifts as needed.
  • Embrace duties related to the responsibility of licensed alcohol and food service.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience or related degree.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Management experience or the willingness to learn & grow.

Physical Demands

  • Lift up to 50 lbs
  • Sit, bend, reach frequently
